Q. What is the scope for “Asia”?
A. For this platform, we define the word “Asia” as the geographical region of Northeast Asia (Japan, South Korea, China) and Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei and Myanmar).

Q. Do the articles have to be only about the matters in Asia?
A. We do intend to cover affairs that are related to or/ happened within Asia. However, since nothing is purely domestic in today’s society, what you think is worth sharing can also be submitted, regardless of the geographical area that the news is concerned.

Q. How can I get involved?
A. Please refer to the page above.

Q. Do I need to be a professional journalist to write for THE LEADS ASIA?
A. THE LEADS ASIA is a platform where anyone who aims to make our future better can gather and contribute to information-sharing. Therefore, you do not have to be a journalist/writer by profession to join this community.

Q. I am not a citizen of Asian countries. Am I eligible to get involved?
A. Yes. Regarding the participation, THE LEADS ASIA does not set a limitation based on the participant’s nationalities. Therefore, if you are interested in/have something to share related to this geographical region of Asia, you are more than welcome to join.

Q. What can I write about on THE LEADS ASIA?
A. To write for “Voices ASIA”, which is the contributing columns from all over the globe, the topics can vary. Besides the constructive feedback/opinion article in response to our articles in the sections “DIALOGUE4.0” and “I see, We see News”, from daily Glocal report on the things in your community, to your personal question about cities or cultures in other region(s), to the general thoughts you want to share with the audience… anything you think would contribute to our constructive dialogue are welcome to submit.
Below is the list of topic examples.

  • News and Comment / Reviews
  • Correspondence
  • Books, Arts & Culture

Q. What is the political stance of this media, and should I follow it when writing a piece?
A. Since our writers are coming from different regions, different societies with different political regimes, we do not take single stance to follow in order for them to express their ideas freely. In addition, we intend to make this media to be a platform to exchange thoughts and have constructive discussions by using the methods of Constructive Journalism. Therefore, we ask contributing writers to involve at least 2 sides of the opinion, in which process our editorial team would be happy to help.

Q. How does it maintain the gatekeeping for articles?
A. Our editorial team makes sure that there is no discrimination in the article before it is published, including race, gender, sexuality, religion or beliefs. Also, if the article takes monolithic standpoint, radical or accusing tone for the entire article, it has the high possibility to be withheld to modify some of the content.
